My feedback for "Are online video games more than just fun?"

Great blog post Maddie on whether video games are more than just fun or not. Some very valid and strong points were made and it was a nice easy read. Your blog was full of very sophisticated language which added great weight to the style. Evidence throughout the blog post was smoothly added into it and backed up relevant points and statements. To back up your opinion written about in your blog post you have made great use of resources. I saw video games in a great light after reading your blog post. Delightful reading of succinct and relevant statements.

Some areas to improve on could potentially be the inclusion of a video. This may allow audiences which may tune out when faced with such sophisticated language to remain interested.

Following my reading of your blog post ‘Are online video games more than just fun?’ I was throughly intrigued by the topic and it gave me great insight into a topic I could further investigate myself.

I really liked the visual setup of your page/s, I found the colours and layout aesthetically pleasing.

In terms of content you came across very strong in your arguments which I think is a great persuasive technique as I found myself agreeing with you more times than not.

However I think that something that would benefit the post/s would be adding a little more opinion to the piece. You tend to provide a fact and then use that to justify your opinion rather than offering you’re opinion first and backing it up with fact.

Furthermore, you could also add a little bit more of yourself to the piece to make it more personal. When I read a blog post I want it to reflect the person who wrote it so that may add a little bit more to the piece. But overall, I think the piece flows well, the information is really strong and the use of a visual is a nice aid and helps to keep the reader attentive.

After reading your most recent post, "Do digital natives really exist?", I can positively say that I agree with your final line of conclusion. However, I recommend putting more of your own personal opinion on the topic rather than reinstating the arguments of both Prensky and Mundkar. This way, the post may seem more colloquial and conversational instead of merely informative.

The way you have laid out your paragraphs make for an easily navigated read, which is much appreciated; although, maybe your post(s) would also benefit from extra forms of visual media (i.e. images, gifs, videos, etc.) - these visual elements keep the reader attentive and can help to get your contention across. I have been sooooo busy with Stormy Lodge, and finally today I HAD to visit your site. Loved it all!
